The concept of pattern in mani cial growth
نویسندگان
چکیده
T he phenomenon of human craniofacial development includes both pattern (the maintenance of the configuration of the face over time) and growth (the geometric changes in size and shape of craniofacial structures). These concepts, both of which are necessary, may seem contradictory rather than complementary to human biologists dealing with the face theoretically and clinically. How can the face grow in size and yet maintain its own morphologic characteristics? How is the face of the little child, maturing through the accelerated, differentiated, and turbulent period of adolescent development, still recognizable in appearance years later? The primary purpose of this article is to attempt to reconcile these apparently contradictory concepts, to relate “pattern” to “‘growth” in the human craniofacial complex, and to attempt to quantify the concept of pattern in the context of normal and abnormal growth.

The ancient Chalipa pattern in architecture is one of the patterns that have been considered as the main symbol of pre-Islamic Iranian architecture. Today, decoding different meanings of this symbol in the mosques as the base model, which is the source of Iranian and Islamic architecture, has been neglected. The present research is constantly attempting to compare the Iranian mosques with mosqu...
متن کاملDistorted Reflector Antennas: Radiation Pattern Sensitivity to the Surface Distortions
The high-frequency performance of the reflector antennas is mainly limited by the surface. It has been shown that distortions on different regions of the reflector surface can have different effects on the radiation performance. In other words, degradation of the radiation pattern due to the presence of surface distortions is sensitive to the location and behavior of the surface distortion prof...

متن کاملNon-Linear Inflationary Dynamics based on the Concept of Missing Money in Iran
In this research, non-linear inflationary dynamics based on the concept of missing money is studied using the threshold autoregressive models based on seasonal data of the time interval (1990:04-2016:07) for the economy of Iran. The finding of the research shows that simple and Divisia liquidity growth variables are determined as threshold variables, and inflation reacts to changes in the growt...
